Terms of Service
Last updated: December 21, 2025
1. Using TipMe
By using TipMe, you're agreeing to these terms. They're pretty straightforward—just the basics to keep things running smoothly. We might update these terms from time to time, and if we do, we'll update the date at the top. If you don't agree with something, that's okay, but you'll need to stop using the service.
2. What TipMe Does
TipMe is a simple platform that lets you receive tips through QR codes. We connect you with people who want to tip you and handle the payment processing through Stripe. We're basically the middleman—we don't hold onto your money longer than needed to process it.
3. Who Can Use It
To use TipMe, you need to:
- Be 18 or older
- Be able to legally enter into agreements
- Give us accurate info when you sign up
- Follow the law (obviously)
4. Your Account
To receive tips, you'll need to create an account and complete Stripe's onboarding. Keep your login info safe—you're responsible for what happens with your account. If something sketchy happens, let us know right away.
5. Payments
Receiving Tips
- Tips go through Stripe and land in your connected bank account
- Transfers usually happen daily, but Stripe's processing times apply
- Standard payment fees apply (you'll see these during setup)
- You're responsible for any taxes on tips you receive
Giving Tips
- Tips are voluntary and can't be refunded once processed
- You authorize the charge when you tip
- Tips go straight to the person you're tipping
6. Don't Do This
Please don't use TipMe to:
- Break any laws
- Scam people or do anything fraudulent
- Launder money or fund illegal stuff
- Steal someone else's intellectual property
- Harass or harm others
- Hack or mess with our systems
Basically, just be cool and use TipMe the right way.
7. Our Stuff
TipMe and everything on it (design, features, content) belongs to us. You can't copy, modify, or redistribute it without our permission. Fair enough, right?
8. How It Works
TipMe is provided "as is"—we do our best to keep it running smoothly, but we can't guarantee it'll be perfect 100% of the time. Things can break, go down, or have bugs. You use it at your own risk.
9. Our Responsibility
We're not responsible for indirect damages (like lost profits or data) that might come from using TipMe. If something goes wrong and it's our fault, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the past year (which, for most users, is probably nothing since the service is free to use).
10. If Things Go Wrong
If you do something that violates these terms or causes problems, you're responsible for any resulting claims or damages. We're just trying to run a simple tipping platform here.
11. Ending Your Account
We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms or do something we can't allow. If that happens, any pending transfers will still go through per Stripe's policies. You can also stop using TipMe anytime—just delete your account.
12. Legal Stuff
These terms are governed by the laws where TipMe operates. If there's a dispute, we'll try to work it out like adults first. If that doesn't work, we'll handle it through arbitration or the courts as needed.
